A successful installation of an automatic broke roll cutter system was completed at Kimberly-Clark Australia in October 2019.
Our broke roll cutter equipment receives spent rolls from an incoming conveyor, detecting the roll edge, picking it up and moving it over a broke conveyor.
The roll cutter cuts down the broke tissue until a couple of millimetres above the core and, with patented hooks, the remaining tissue is removed without damaging the cardboard core. The broke roll cutter delivers the cleaned cores onto a roll down table. The cores are gently moved along the table through the safety barrier where they are accessible to an operator for further handling before being returned to tissue production.
